Chris Baker (Victoria, Australia)

Founder and Principal Consultant

Chris Baker is the founder of Kallista Consulting and a productivity, leadership and organisational improvement specialist with more than twenty years of consulting experience.

Holding a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physics), Chris combines analytical thinking with practical business experience to help organisations solve complex operational and leadership challenges. Throughout his career he has worked with government agencies, manufacturers, logistics providers, utilities, defence organisations and private sector businesses across Australia.

A Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders, Chris specialises in leadership development, organisational productivity, workflow optimisation, business process improvement and operational excellence. His work draws upon Lean thinking, Agile principles, Theory of Constraints and contemporary leadership practices to deliver practical, sustainable results.

Known for his engaging facilitation style and ability to simplify complex concepts, Chris has facilitated hundreds of workshops and improvement initiatives, helping organisations build capability while delivering measurable outcomes.

David Long (Christchurch, New Zealand)

Leadership Facilitator and Organisational Capability Consultant

 David Long is a leadership facilitator, trainer and organisational capability consultant with more than 15 years of experience leading, developing and preparing professionals for demanding operational environments.

 During his career with the New Zealand Defence Force, including operational deployments to Afghanistan and Timor-Leste, David held a range of leadership, instructional and specialist appointments. These experiences required him to build capable teams, set clear expectations, develop others and maintain accountability in demanding environments where communication, sound judgement and effective teamwork were essential.

 Alongside his military career, David has extensive experience designing and facilitating practical training programmes for organisations and operational teams. His work focuses on turning complex concepts into relevant, workplace-based learning that strengthens leadership, communication, decision-making and team performance.

 He holds qualifications in Adult and Tertiary Teaching and brings a highly practical, participant-centred approach to facilitation. Rather than treating leadership as a collection of abstract theories, David helps participants connect leadership principles with genuine workplace challenges, behaviours and results.

 His facilitation style is straightforward, engaging and grounded in real leadership experience. He is particularly passionate about helping frontline and emerging leaders make the transition from technically capable operators to confident leaders who can build trust, develop others, strengthen accountability and create positive team cultures.

 David delivers Kallista Consulting’s leadership and organisational capability programmes in New Zealand.
